It wasn't that bad...honest!

By Chris O'Keefe

Liverpool fans could be forgiven for thinking that their world came crumbling down on Sunday evening.

The scoreline suggests a gulf between the sides. So what about the Champions League encounter between the sides where Liverpool had the better of the match.

Indeed even when Liverpool were trailing on Sunday there were clear signs that Chelsea's defence was worried by the Liverpool attack.

Rafael Benitez has made the Liverpool side a tough nut to crack with only six goals conceded in seven games and that includes the latest result.

It is clear there are problems going forward with goals at a premium but Benitez has found ways to tackle problems like this before and may well again find the solution.

People (particularly Paddy Power Bookmakers) have already written the course of the Premiership for this season. Yet it's only seven weeks old and there are another seven months left. To Liverpool that's 31 games and 93 points to play for.

Chelsea are the champions for this season and that's that! Which is fine but for one detail, haven't we been here before?

Arsenal, 49 games without defeat, unbeatable and playing with confidence, top of the league and on their way to a second successive title!

Then one defeat at Old Trafford suddenly alters the course of the whole season and they finish twelve points behind in second.

It's happened before and it could happen again because Chelsea have not won the league with just 24 points. A long way to go yet!
